Pins for Charity!
7/13/2025
Recently, after I attended the first day of the SF art book fair, I was very inspired by the community to set up a small booth to sell some of the collage pins I made. At this booth, I sold some previously made pins advocating for justice for families affected by ICE and to fund science. The main thing I sold were custom collage name pins for fair-goers!
This was a great experience. With the current political climate and the injustices occurring against hardworking and kind people in our communities, I felt like I needed to try to find some way to contribute in my own way. I was very happy to have raised over $160 dollars to help fund legal aid for families affected by ICE. It was also so reqwarding to be able to engage with my local community and feel the support and love that people have in SF! It's really easy to feel overwhelmed and powerless when thinking about what's currently happening in the world. Talking to people in my community who care and are trying their best to care for each other in their own ways was reassuring and inspiring, and reinforced my belief that we must do what we can to support each other through this administration.
